Minecraft Bees
refers to neutral mobs in the video game Minecraft was first released in August 2019 as a part of 19w34a test version of the 1.15 update to the game. Steve Larese Many memes were posted online regarding the update, including bees and other related items as well as blocks.
Origin
On the 22nd of August, 2019, game developer Mojang released the snapshot 19w34a (test version) of Minecraft which featured the addition of bee mobs and beehive and bee nest blocks (images shown below). [1]
As of August 23rd, 2019 the exact date at when bees, bee-related items and blocks were added to the main game version was not announced.
Spread
Many memes that referred to the update were also posted on Reddit and Instagram the same day. In several instances, users mocked Mojang for introducing bees into the game instead of the much-requested update for caves. [2][3]
