Who are you?

You can call me Viz, but I'm InvisibleUp. I'm your local ghost internet. OOOoooOOoo~...

I'm not a fan at all of the spooky stuff. I'd like to be a kind, compassionate person. In the end, I want to help people be the best they can. I don't believe in being edgy or in being apathetic or insulting. If you're having a bad day, I hope you can just relax here and learn about Sonic or AOL or whatever. A friend once called me "a breath-of-fresh air" so I'll accept this as an invitation to be your spring breeze.

IRL, I'm very much alive and not hairless. In actuality I'm a young female (with an absurd amount of curly reddish hair) currently attending college to study electrical engineering. I'm a specialist in embedded device design and have worked on some amazing projects, like space satellites and the overhaul of an entire department's reporting system.

Retro technology (everything is more fascinating when there are limits) Indie games, cycling through nature trails, public transportation, and Sonic the Hedgehog are all things I am enthusiastic about. But I'm always up to trying new things. Who knows? Maybe I'll discover a new favorite thing. It's always a blast.

What is the purpose of this website?

A lot of times, it's a place to dump random thoughts. It is possible to break it down into broad categories.

The Articles section, the earliest one that actually had semi-regular content is where I attempt to provide explanations and/or gush about topics that interest me or about things I'm working on. It's not updated frequently because it's hard to come up with fresh content.

The Hacking notes contain some suggestions and utilities for modders of old video games. There are also the Projects which contain more substantial material that I've been working on and that stand on its own. Then, there's the Doodles which is where I attempt to express myself in a creative way.

Any favorite games/webcomics/whatever?

I'm kinda interested in video games? I'll play them from time to the time, but I would not call myself an "gamer". I think the entire medium is neat, what people can do with them their experiences and the emotions they can convey and how they can use what they have to their advantage. Some games that I'm enjoying at the moment or in the past are Night in the Woods, deltarune, Tetris Attack, a lot of the Sonic series, and Minecraft.

For films, my all time favorites have to be Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Forrest Gump, About Time, and Kiki's Delivery Service. I prefer plots with strong character interactions over flashy grand plots.

My musical preferences are... unusual. My tastes in music were shaped by SoundCloud, YouTube and the old videogames. The things I like are either earworms that have good basslines (I love 80's Jpop and alternative music from the 00's) or instrumental tracks that allow you to feel the music and not just listen to it. (stuff like Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Blue Album-era Beatles and Pink Floyd.)

What's the matter with the username?

Surprisingly brief story in actual. I was watching a Mario gaming marathon in aid of charity (led by MonotoneTim who is a very cool guy) and was in need of an account name to join the chat. I thought, "You know what's awesome?" Info The Boo mushrooms from Super Mario Galaxy, which can make you appear invisible. So after a solid 15 seconds of thinking I entered "InvisibleUp" and I stuck with it. (In retrospect, I should have picked something with less words.)

And the ghostsona?

I started out for years with a logo that looked vaguely like a ghost from Pac-Man. I really wanted a unique profile pic, so I made one. That being said, a few years later I decided that it kinda sucked. I felt a need to have an actual kind of human face to represent my posts instead of just some weird abstract logo thing. I wanted to have a more personal presence on the 'net than I had let myself have before. So, I came up with Inviz.

It's possible to say she was sort of inspired by Napstablook from Undertale and Vivian from Paper Mario TTYD. I could have drawn myself as an individual but I wanted to attempt to create a character instead. It's a must to keep the ghost theme running. Also I'm kinda too squirrelly about privacy to put on my actual face.
