Minecraft: Pocket Edition was patched to version 0.10 this week the update brought with it not only the usual bugs fixes and general improvements (baby animals can now swim instead of sinking like rocks to a grave that is watery, for example) and visual enhancements as well.
A visual update might sound strange for a game whose entire aesthetic design is built around low-resolution blocks, but the differences should be apparent. According to the official Minecraft: Pocket Edition Twitter account, there's "more water-like looking water," "foggier looking fog," "even fewer particles" and "tinted lighting for terrain and mobs."
