WoW player wins race to the new Wrath Classic level cap using decade-old bug

A World of Warcraft player reached the highest level in Wrath of the Lich King Classic within hours , despite the long lines.
Echo Guild's Naowh won the race to level 80 on new servers using a 12-year-old bug that is as old as the servers. This allowed Naowh the World of Warcraft fan to finish the task in just nine hours. Naowh was able to profit from the Elite monster, which spawns zombies every time you kill them. Tag the zombies prior to when the next wave is summoned. They'll stop spawning but give you the XP for taking them down.
Naowh also joined forces with players of level one to help accelerate their plans. Naowh was able to earn extra group XP when they were swept into the undead wave, which allowed them to speed up their progress towards level 80.
The glitch has been in play since the first Wrath of the Lich King launch. In the meantime, a few of Naowh's followers asked him if he believed Blizzard might cancel his achievement by rolling his account back to level 70 due to the glitch, but Naowh seems pretty unaffected about the whole situation. For Naowh is either the first person to reach level 80 or the first to achieve the level and be punished.

Although the Classic Wrath of the Lich King servers are only being launched, they're already proven to be extremely popular if you look at social media.
