The latest build challenge was all about Star Wars, with Mojang challenging players to create incredible objects from the universe of Jar Jar Binks with blocks. Ashwood won the competition for his design of the Vuutun Palaa (a Lucrehulk Class battleship which was in charge during the Naboo invasion in Episode 1) The secretly best Star Wars film.
Ashwood, who goes under Gumliii on Reddit, explained that the build does not have an interior at present but they are investigating it. Gumliii created several Star Wars-themed builds, which can be seen on their Planet Minecraft Page. They also mentioned that they'll upload this build there so you can play with it. It's got a diameter of 1,300 blocks, and the maximum height limit is 383 block. It's big.
The other entries to the contest include stunning cityscapes as well as a recreation of famous battles and models too. If you're wondering how people are able to put these pictures together, most of the more popular ones make use of plugins such as WorldEdit to simplify things. Gumliii took two weeks creating it though, so it's still a titanic effort even with the plugins.
