Want to see for yourself what's coming in the Minecraft beta? A beta season for Minecraft usually brings the most recent features over the course of one year. The Minecraft 1.18 update - Caves and Cliffs is bringing an array of new mobs, blocks and biomes to the game. There are also new features for the Minecraft warden. There are a lot of new things to explore.
Sound good? It sounds great, but participating in a snapshot beta could be confusing if you don't know where to go or what you should do. There's also the added issue of two separate versions on PC, so you'll need the correct set of instructions for the version of Minecraft you're running.
To make accessing the latest snapshot beta versions for each edition as simple as is possible, we'll explain the steps you have to complete to get access to both the Minecraft Bedrock edition and the Minecraft Java edition. Minecraft Servers We will also give a brief overview of differences between the two editions.
Minecraft Beta versions
There are some differences between the Minecraft beta versions. Bedrock edition is currently somewhat behind the Java edition in terms of beta features, but it does include the latest Minecraft goats that you can spawn with eggs in creative mode, and also the option to feed them with wheat to breed baby goats! Update snapshots are usually live around one month before the official launch.
Minecraft bedrock beta version
These steps will help you get into Minecraft beta on Bedrock Edition on PC.
Go to the Microsoft Store app and search for the Insider app. It's free to download. - After opening the app, click on the Previews tab. If you own Minecraft Bedrock edition, you should see the Minecraft for Windows 10 beta programme'. Click this link to read the disclaimer. - Once you have read the disclaimer thoroughly, confirm that you have read and understand the terms and conditions. After that, you can download the beta version Minecraft from the Microsoft Store. - Click to open the downloaded Minecraft version and launch with a brand new Minecraft game. If the title screen is 'beta', you will know that you have the correct version. To view the latest features, scroll down to enable Caves and Cliffs option in the world options.
It is highly recommended that you create a new world for every snapshot. This allows you to see any new biomes in your world generation, such the Minecraft Lush Caves.
Minecraft Java edition beta version
The latest Java snapshot version contains a little more, as it is the only version that has all the new mountain biomes.
To get into the Minecraft beta version on Java edition on your PC You'll have to follow these steps:
- Download the Minecraft Java client from your account. Start the client and click Minecraft. Then, click the Installs tab. - Make sure you have checked 'Snapshots. You'll see the most recent snapshot version appear on the list of versions. Click on the snapshot to run it.
