World of Warcraft: Shadowlands's Castle Nathria Set to Release December 8th

Blizzard's onslaught of content with the brand new World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion has been non-stop, and there's always something new to talk about. The next weekly reset will bring you one of the most important content implementations.



This weekly reset will occur on the 8th of December, Tuesday, and will include everything an endgame player may want to have. The Castle Nathria raid will be releasing, the first raid of the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion.

If you've completed the story quest the build-up to the final assault on Castle Nathria can be intense and rough. The gear you find inside may be even more important than the lore motives to do the job. You may want to complete the quests if you've not yet.



Normal and Heroic difficulties will be released during this weekly reset, however players won't obtain Mythic and Raid Finder content for a while.

Castle Nathria consists of 10 bosses which are split into several wings. The first section, Blood From Stone, includes three bosses namely Shriekwing, Sludgefist, and the Stone Legion Generals. This section allows you to move on to the next wing after you've completed the first wing.

The second set of encounters are in a wing called the Leeching Vaults. The three bosses are Huntsman Altimor (the Hungering Destroyer) and Lady Inerva Darkvein (who players may have seen in the Revendreth storyline).



From there, in the Reliquary of Opulence, players will meet a classic fan-favorite character amongst the bosses. This wing features Artificier Xy'Mox as well as Sun King's Salvation as well as the Council of Blood.



The Sun King's Salvation, many may recognize, refers to Kael'thas Sunstrider who was the former leader of the Blood Elves who aligned himself with Illidan Stormrage the Betrayer in the Burning Crusade expansion. He was killed multiple times by players and the popular fan favorite has been absent ever since.



The wings will be removed and the final boss will be Sire Denathrius, the lord, Revendreth, and the Eternal One. The Mawsworn traitor is now empowered through his agreement with Jailer. He is waiting for players in his castle, which is appropriately named wing An Audience with Arrogance.

On normal occasions, these bosses will drop gear tuned to item level 200, significantly higher than the current mythic dungeon drop item cap of 184. On difficulty that is heroic this level of item increases up to 213, making it significantly more powerful, reflecting the difficulty increase of the raid.



Players won't be able to access the Raid Finder difficulty of the raid until later on. The wings will be released in a staggered fashion on December 15, January 5, January 19, and February 2, for the four wings above.
