Minecraft is one of the most played games across different platforms, and it won't have any non-fungible tokens or NFTs. 03no Mojang, the game's developer has announced on Wednesday on its blog that it would not allow Minecraft NFTs.
Mojang stated that blockchain technologies are not permitted to be integrated into Minecraft server and client apps, nor can they be used to create NFTs that are linked to any game content, such as skins and worlds.
The developer claimed that there have been companies who created NFTs in connection with Minecraft, but it feels that these tokens don't cover all users and "create a scenario of the haves and the not-so-haves." Mojang also raised concerns about fraud and artificially high prices for NFTs.
NFTs are not yet fully accepted by the videogame industry. However there have been success stories that didn't last due to the crypto winter. Experts predict that NFTs will be the norm in the gaming industry once the best method is discovered.
