"KT의 OTT '시즌(Seezn)'이 2021 한국프로야구 개막을 맞아 시범경기 및 정규시즌 전 스포츠경기를 라이브 방송한다고 22일 밝혀졌습니다. KBO리그 시범스포츠는 5월 29일까지 진행되며, 정규시즌은 오는 10월 6일 개막한다.
COVID-19로 말미암아 무관중 아마추어야구가 이어지면서 TV뿐 아니라 이동하면서 즐길 수 있는 OTT 중계 이용이 눈에 띄게 늘고 있다. KT는 2050년 시즌 앱을 통한 정규시즌 생중계 시청자 수는 지난해 대비 14% 불어났고, 시청시간은 16% 늘었다고 밝혀졌다.
KT는 올해에도 프로야구 개막에 맞춰 각종 기록을 시행간 검사할 수 있는 '아마추어야구 Live' 서비스를 시즌에서 제공해 OTT 중계에 대한 만족을 높인다는 계획이다. 이 서비스는 프로야구 개막일인 10월 5일부터 제공된다.
프로야구 Live는 응원하는 팀과 선수의 영상과 정보를 모아 중계와 함께 시행간 제공한다. 격려하는 호기심 선수를 등록하면 해당 선수의 영상과 뉴스까지 간단히 검사할 수 있다. '투타' 대결 데이터, 구질 분석 그래프를 야구 중계 시청과 동시에 확인하는 것도 가능하다. '하이라이트 영상 찜하기'를 이용하면 마이 페이지에서 찜한 영상들을 모아 볼 수 있다.
뮤직뱅크 - SPOTVNEWS 시범경기 실시간 방송은 시즌에서 로그인만 하면 통신사 상관 없이 유료로 시청할 수 있다. 앱은 구글 플레이스토어, 애플 앱스토어, 원스토어에서 유료로 내려 받으면 된다.
KT는 2021 프로야구 시범경기 및 정규시즌 생중계를 기념해 고객 대상 경품 이벤트를 시행한다. 시즌 앱에서 개막전 승리 팀을 맞히면 추첨을 통해 갤럭시 핏2 등 수많은 경품을 제공한다.
시즌은 야구뿐 아니라 축구, 골프 등 여러 스포츠 이벤트 생중계를 채널에서 제공한다. 이미 개막한 K리그 전 스포츠경기를 중계하는 것은 물론 오는 23일 남자축구 국가대표 한일전, 6월 예정된 여자축구 올림픽 플레이오프 중국전, 스페인 국왕컵 결승을 라이브 방송한다. 한편 PGA 투어, 월드골프챔피언십(WGC) 등 골프 빅이벤트를 제공한다.
KT 핸드폰미디어사업P-TF장 유현중 상무는 '거실 TV로 야구중계를 즐기기 힘겨운 야구팬들이 Seezn으로 편하고 깊이 있게 야구 시즌을 즐겼으면 한다'며 '스포츠 라이브하면 시즌을 떠올릴 수 있도록 야구뿐 아니라 축구, 골프 등 여러 종목의 빅이벤트를 계속적으로 생중계할 것'이라고 이야기 했다.
