The pink ball or pink ball is an old-school football team name. It harkens back the days when names weren't as common today. With the advent of the MLS, and other leagues playing in the same stadium, the game has drastically changed. The result is that teams are changing the name of their stadiums to include nicknames such as the pink ball, pink ice or the pink pentylon. It is a good way to make your team name more personal, and it keeps the ball in the game.
Apart from the pink ball, the team will also rebrand its boxing ring using a pink Adidas logo. The pink ball T-shirt is one the most sought after in town. Fans are still waiting for the pink balls to arrive, but the team is starting its summer carnival trip July 14 at Toronto's Rogers Centre. From there, the pink balls will transport them all the way to Chase Field Phoenix in October 9.
