KAWS x Uniqlo
KAWS and Uniqlo have teamed up once again to produce a limited edition apparel capsule to accompany the Tokyo First exhibition. Known for his unique street art style, the artist has teamed up with the Japanese clothing giant to create a set of three bags and twelve adult T-shirts. The collection features 17 different graphic designs. There are also KAWS Shirt -shirts. Each piece costs a mere $15.

KAWS is a street graffiti artist born in New Jersey, USA. He first gained international attention when he painted the characters from Sesame Street, which he explains as "a fun way to express myself as an individual." This led to other collaborations with companies and institutions, including the United States Postal Service and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Eventually, he developed his own brand of street fashion clothing, Original Fake.

KAWS and Uniqlo have released a new series of T-shirts based on the Sesame Street and Uniqlo UT collections. These designs are available in both men's and women's sizing, in short and long sleeve options, as well as slim and crew necks. They feature a transparent background that allows the graphical prints to be seen through.

In order to show off the new shirts, the two companies hosted an exhibition of their work. KAWS's signature color charts and rare early prints from his studio are on display. One of the standouts is the KAWS Companion Skeleton, which features the smiley face from the Cactus Plant Flea Market. KAWS has also collaborated with Dior on a special apparel capsule. KAWS is a street artist who has been in the spotlight for more than twenty years. His designs appear on various pieces, from clothing to collectibles.

KAWS x Uniqlo has become a cult favorite among streetwear fans, and the partnership between the two is expected to continue. The collaboration isn't the first between the two brands, and has already sold out twice. However, it's the first time that a whole apparel capsule has been created for a Tokyo First exhibition. According to KAWS, the collaboration is an attempt to highlight the unique and fun side of the company.

As part of their collaboration, Uniqlo also provided a few unique accessories to go along with the shirts. Shoppers were asked to buy both items in one transaction. While some people were hesitant to make such a commitment, others rushed to the shop to take advantage of the offer. Others fought for the chance to grab a mannequin dressed in a KAWS t-shirt, ripping it off to make their own. Some shoppers even threw down on their knees to get into the store.

Although KAWS and Uniqlo's collaboration didn't sell out, the hype surrounding the event was enough to have the hashtag #EverybodyKAWS trend on China's Weibo. It racked up over 83,000 comments and 450 million hits by Tuesday.
