Blizzard: 'no plans' to bring World of Warcraft: Shadowlands to Xbox Series X
World of Warcraft's 2020 expansion will not be available on consoles anytime very soon.

After months of speculation about World of Warcraft: Shadowlands coming to consoles, an official from Blizzard confirmed to Polygon that the developer has "no plans" to bring the MMO and its latest expansion to console. But that doesn't mean it won't come out.
When the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands alpha first started to roll out earlier this year, players datamined controller support. This feature was initially a source of concern for players to be concerned about whether the MMO would make the jump to consoles too. Blizzard posted an announcement on its forums stating that the move was intended to increase World of Warcraft's accessibility, and also let players use controllers without installing an add-on.
A recent rating in Brazil has prompted speculation about World of Warcraft consoles.
On Monday, Gematsu tweeted that Blizzard received a rating for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands for both Xbox Series X and PC on the Brazil Ministry of Justice's rating website. According to Blizzard the rating was an error.

"We are currently not planning to bring World of Warcraft or Shadowlands to Xbox Series X," a representative from Blizzard confirmed to Polygon. "The platform was listed on the Brazil Ministry of Justice rating website in error and the entry has since been changed to show that the game is coming only to PC."
Although Blizzard's statement does not confirm that World of Warcraft, Shadowlands or any other game, will never be made available for consoles, it does sound like the MMO won't be making the switch when Blizzard launches Shadowlands later this year.
