Sepha was born in Ethiopia and fled to Eritrea in the late '70s, and eventually settled in Washington, DC. Her friends and colleagues are similarly diverse, with several African accents present. "Ken the Kenyan" is Stephanos's longtime friend, and "Joe from the Congo" is a waiter at Colonial Grill. Joe from the Congo is a poet, who gave up his dream of getting a PhD to work in the US but still keeps college books and quotes poetry.

Adega Ourense and Sepha have a special bond. Sepha was a refugee from the late '70s and has lived in the United States for 17 years. The two have a special friendship, and "Ken the Kenyan" is Sepha's close friend and a waiter at Colonial Grill. While "Joe from the Congo" abandoned his dreams of studying abroad and settling down in the US, he keeps his college books and quotes poetry.

The story is told in the perspective of a young refugee, a biracial girl named Selasi who becomes close friends with Stephanos and is a part of the world's largest refugee camp. In order to receive asylum in the US, refugees must be able to prove that their fears in their country are well-founded, and they cannot be sent back to countries where they fear persecution. This is the case for asylum seekers.

Sepha is an eleven-year-old biracial girl who develops a special friendship with Stephanos. She is a refugee from Ethiopia, but calls herself an "Afropolitan" and calls herself an Afropolitan. Meanwhile, her friends include a biracial boy named Selasi, who is in the world's largest refugee complex. The refugees have to prove that their fear of their home country is well-founded, so they cannot be returned to it.

The film's characters are also a mixture of races. The protagonist, Sepha, is an Ethiopian, but was born in Eritrea. She emigrated to the US 17 years ago and now lives in Washington DC. The other characters include a waiter called Joe from the Congo, who emigrated to the US from a refugee camp in Nigeria. He's a part-African, but he's still a "Washingtonian."

Adega Ourense are mainly biracial, but the novel does have a few white protagonists as well. The first is Sepha, an eleven-year-old biracial girl, who lives in Washington, DC. Her friends are Ken the Kenyan, who Stephanos refers to as "Joe from the Congo." The Congolese waiter, Joe, has given up his PhD dream, but still keeps his college books and quotes poems.

The film features three central characters: Sepha, who is a refugee from Eritrea and Ethiopia, and Joe from the Congo, who is a waiter at a Colonial Grill in Washington, DC. Both of them are Afropolitan. Both are in their early twenties and live in a refugee camp in Dadaab, a large complex in northeastern Kenya. In order to qualify for refugee status, people need to prove that they are afraid of their home country. Otherwise, they may be denied their applications and be forced to leave.

The book tells the story of Sepha, an enslaved man from Ethiopia. His family fled to Eritrea in the 1970s and now lives in Washington DC with their four children. Their close friends, Stephanos and Sepha, are African American. He and his family live in the US with his girlfriend, Selasi, and awaiter from the Congo. Although he has given up his dream of earning a PhD, he keeps his college books and quotes poems.

The book is a love story about the migrant crisis in Kenya. The story follows the lives of refugees in the world's largest refugee complex, Dadaab. The government must prove that the displaced people have good reasons to fear their home country. They cannot be forced to return to their homelands, as their home country is not safe. This is a novel about the challenges of life and the hopes of the people living there.
