In the past, a land that was deemed to be honorable was known as "the wilderness." The pre-runescape hd & the pre-wildy removal era was the best. Don't tell me that you are having the same enjoyment playing runescape that you did three or four years ago.
For a 99-strong guy 32 was the maximum hit in the real wilderness. (I mean real wilderness, not in f2p). https://rswiki.net/ There were beautiful and simple graphics. There was nothing too extravagant.
Graphics were simple and effective. Graphics are too realistic-wannabe now. The company that made these graphics for jagex did a terrible job.
Then, there's the entire game chapter.
In an argument (back in the days of) you weren't able to see your exact hitpoints level unless you switched to your stat screen. For newer players reading this - the hitpoints/constitution level was not displayed next to the map. It was only available on your statistics page. When you were fighting, you typically had to estimate your own hitpoints level and take your food accordingly. This is because going back to the statistics tab and looking at your HP level will make you lose precious seconds as food is available with two mouse clicks and some little scrolling to the food instead of just a single mouse click. This would force pkers to guess when to eat , which will make it more challenging and fun.
The other fun part of the old HP display when pking (player-killing) would be the "know whether you're dead" part. This is quite simple. If you were redbarred (when your HP bar was red) you could be alive with just 1 or 2 hp or less, unless you had zero. Getting redbarred and going to the HP screen was a thrill in itself. It was like a lottery ticket to know what effort you put into your possessions was worth it or not. The suspense would last for two seconds with no one knowing when the fight was over.
There are many more, but we'll just keep it to that. It's sad to say that the old days of joy. The sad thing about it is that we observe Jagex making these bold claims, which make people believe that the wild is back, but it's not - pokemon is back. Sorry but when you're hit by a 190 with water icons, I think of water pokemons doing damage or playing some other Chinese-style game. I hope people will realize the futility of fighting. If you've got an old tale or two to share, then let me know what the good times were like, we could surely connect with one the other. We're looking forward to sharing your stories in the comments.
