AKTIVITAS DALAM MATAHARI
1. Ledakan Matahari (Flare)
Ledakan Matahari terjadi akibat energi yang dilepaskan secara tiba-tiba dalam waktu singkat dari partikel-partikel bermuatan listrik di fotosfer. Semburan partikel-partikel tersebut dapat mencapai bumi dan mengganggu lapisan magnetik bumi atau ionosfer.
2. Gumpalan-gumpalan matahari (Granula)
Granula terjadi karena semburan gas panas dari Matahari ke lapisan fotosfer. Akibatnya,permukaan Matahari terlihat bergumpal-gumpal.
3. Noda Hitam Matahari (Sun Spot)
Noda hitam Matahari merupakan aliran gas panas dari inti Matahari yang tidak sampai ke fotosfer karena tertahan gaya magnetik Matahari.
Daerah tersebut suhunya lebih rendah sehingga tampak seperti noda hitam.
Ia timbul dan menghilang, lamanya rata-rata 11 tahun sekali.
4. Lidah Api (Promeninensa)
Lidah api merupakan massa proton dan elektron atom hidrogen dengan kecepatan tinggi. Lidah api tampak sebagai juluran-juluran gas pada fotosfer.
Pada tahun 2010,lidah api tercatat mencapai jarak terpanjang, yaitu 700 ribu km atau hampir sama dengan diameter Matahari.
