Developed as an indie title and made available to the public in 2009, Minecraft has since become a global phenomenon. Markus 'Notch" Persson, the creator of Minecraft, published it through Mojang. He certainly didn't expect the speedy growth it experienced. The sandbox adventure and construction game that has huge pixels has sold a plethora of millions of copies around the world... and is now under the control of Microsoft who paid over 2 billion dollars for the rights.
With the backing of an enormous company, the game is performing at its peak (although we don't know whether it will die due to its own success, it wouldn't be the first case) and has been reinforced in a variety of ways. It's also available on other platforms, such as Windows, PS4, Xbox, iPhone, in APK format for Android (the mobile version is known as Pocket Edition or PE) and on Mac with this version we're talking about today.
Although it's true that there aren't too many differences between Minecraft for Mac and the PC version. In other terms, you can explore worlds that are generated randomly and construct any kind of structure including a quaint hut to a palace worthy of a millionaire. You only need to be mindful of a few things: if you learn how to combine and design your tools and resources your world will open up to unlimited possibilities.
Two game modes and an unlimited experience
There are two game modes that make the most of the game's features, where you can set the level of difficulty in which you'll play, from a less sombre version to the most conflictive one:
You can play in the creative mode with unlimited resources. This allows you to explore the world around you and create incredible structures. Survival mode: Here you be confronted with dangers and creatures which could force you to construct shelters or armors. Extreme mode: identical to the survival mode by being more difficult, as the world will disappear when the player dies. Spectator mode: you can fly and watch the game without interacting with it, from your own point of view or from the perspective of another player or creature. Adventure mode: This mode lets players to create maps for other users who want to play online or on their own.
In both modes, the game is all about placing and destroying blocks in order to play in first or third person. These blocks are different elements of nature, such as stones, minerals, wood or earth. They are at least in their initial state because the player can craft them, and, in other words, work on them and combine them to make other tools to help you to build more complicated buildings and tools.
Furthermore, as we said before, the game is generated randomly by an algorithm, allowing it to be endless and to ensure that no two worlds are the same. Thus, you can explore the tundra, deserts, jungles, oceans, plains, mountains... and yes, there are nights and life cycles: 20 minutes of gaming is equivalent to a day.
- Build a virtual world without limitations. International directory There are various game modes. You can combine different game modes, like adventure, construction, action, and more. - Create your own world with the editor. - Play in the online multiplayer mode in real-time. - Customize the game with mods and skins.
The game's versatility is what makes it so well-liked. Mods and skins permit you to modify different aspects of the game.
