Most people don't know what human trafficking is. Human trafficking is slavery of this century or modern day slavery. Its also a touchy subject and only some people will fully understand or take it seriously. I chose this topic because it is very common but most dont realise it. Not to mention that is illegal in all ways and there isn’t a way out.
According to randomhistory.com, there is 27 million adult victims of human trafficking and 13 million children that are victims of it as well. The number one thing human trafficking is used for is prostitution. Dosomething.org says that there is an estimated 90% just for prostitution. It's not just for adults either. The average age for a child to be on the market for prostitution is 12-14 years old, but they do range from 9-19. In the children that were trafficked, 71% showed suicidal tendencies.
The average cost of human trafficking is $90 according to forbes.house.com. Although the average cost $90, Randomhistory.com says that prostitution slaves can earn their pimp up to $250,000 if they were not bruitilized to the point of ruining their beauty and having a lost spirit, which helps future buyers a hassle. After prostitution, labor is the second most popular. But most pimps use them for both.
