According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Avanos Medical is recalling the Cortrak*2 Enteral Access System because the misplacement of nasogastric or nasoente tubes has caused injury and death of patients. Avanos is promoting the Cortrak*2 Ental Access System due to its ability to view the stomach of a patient and their small bowel. This allows the placement of an medical feed tube.
