Avanos Medical and FDA issued a Class 1 recall of 629 units of CORTRAK*2 an enteral access device, which is a tube for feeding device that is linked to many accidents and deaths.

The recall serves to modify the label of the device in order to remind users to check that the tube is correctly placed prior the time of delivering nutrition.
According to FDA, "Adverse events include respiratory failure, pneumothorax perforation (a hole or puncture within the lung's wall, esophagus, or the bowel), pneumonia, lung infection and the pleural effusion ("excess fluid that is accumulating between the lungs and the chest cavity),"
