Avanos Medical Cortrak*2 Ental Access System is designed for medical professionals who are trained to insert medical feeding tubes in the stomachs or small bowels of patients that require nutritional assistance. Patients may suffer serious injury or even death due to incorrectly placed Nasogastric tubes and nasoenteric ones.
Avanos Medical's recall notice declared that there were more than 23 deaths and 60 injuries linked to the misplacement or removal of nasogastric feed tubes in the using the CORTRAK*2 enteral Access System. Include the field correction notice about the issue to the operator's manual.
