Doodle God Universe: you're the Creator of the Universe in this new Apple Arcade Game

Doodle God, which was launched in 2010 by JoyBits and was a puzzle game that gave a twist to the world-building genre. Doodle God grew into a series that included titles like Doodle Devil, Doodle Mafia and Doodle Farm. On Friday, Doodle God Universe joined Apple Arcade's wide selection of games.



In Doodle God Universe, you'll mix various elements -- starting with air, earth water, and fire- to build new elements and objects for your worlds through puzzles, eventually creating your own universe and supporting the life within it.

While Doodle God Universe will feel familiar to those who've played any of the games prior, Paul, a brand evangelist for JoyBits who prefers to use his first name, says that in many ways it's an entirely new game. Doodle God Universe comes with modern icons for elements, redrawn, 3D scenes, and more reactions. There are also modifications to the game's difficulty and speed.



"Easiness and speed are crucial for modern gamers and you can feel it in Doodle God Universe thanks to the latest animations of all actions performed by players, a minimalistic UI design that makes it easier to use and a dynamic scoring system that encourages players to search for new reactions," Paul told CNET over email. " The game adjusts to the style and logic of the player in question."



The Doodle God series is an A+B=C style game, according to Paul. Similar mechanics are used in games such as Triple Town, 2048, and Little Alchemy. These games blend elements from other games to create new ones. For example the official trailer for the game illustrates how the combination of fire and bird creates a Phoenix. Doodle God's unique content, quests, puzzles mini-games, and art sets it apart from other variations and copies, Paul says.

The game also gets a boost by Apple's latest hardware, such as 5G and the A14 Bionic chip.



Paul said that "The power of the modern Apple products -- iPhone, iPad and Mac, AppleTV -- along with other great technologies like Metal -- all this enabled us to implement all our most innovative game design concepts and visual concepts."



Getting creative and chaotic World-building games like Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Terraria and The Sims have supplied gamers with hours of entertainment for years. Paul says that Doodle God Universe, just like all world-building games is about exploration and finding the unexpected.



Paul said that world-building games can be extremely interesting for a long period of time and that many players would love to read Doodle God over and again like a good novel. "And in a world that a person is nearly always at home, what could be better than rereading your favorite book, re-watching your favorite TV series or re-creating Doodle God Universe?"



Paul suggests that players who pick up Doodle God Universe should be open-minded to try new things. This makes the game more fun. Doodle God Universe rewards curiosity.



Paul said, "Use your imagination. Let creativity be your engine." "There is no predetermined pattern for the game. You can use your logic to combine elements or create them chaotically."



Apple Arcade has nearly 200 games including Alto's Odyssey and Angry Birds Reloaded.
