According to a senior designer who is involved in World of Warcraft, development has been stopped following an explosive lawsuit against the Activision-Blizzard publishing giant.
Tweeting on Twitter, World of Warcraft senior system designer Jeff Hamilton didn't mince words and said "I can tell you, virtually no work is being done on World of Warcraft right now while this insanity continues to play out. This is bad for everyone - the shareholders, the developers, and the players.
"Activision's response to this is currently taking a group of world-class developers and making them so angry and scared that they're in a position of being unable to continue making great games," continued Hamilton.
The lawsuit against Activision Blizzard is from the state of California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing. An investigation of two years conducted by the department claims that in addition to games, the company had created a "frat boy" culture that was characterized by discrimination and harassment of women were widespread.
I'm not sure what I should do. I don't have all the answers. I can observe that World of Warcraft is currently being dominated by this sexism. And that benefits nobody none of the players not the developers, and certainly not the shareholders.

The lawsuit's text gives a more precise picture and provides specific instances of male employees at Activision Blizzard harassing and demeaning their female counterparts. "Female employees are subjected to constant sexual harassment, including having to constantly fight off unwanted sexual comments and advances from male coworkers and supervisors, and being groped at the "cue brawls" and other workplace events," reads a part of the lawsuit.
