AMBOS:
*- Ofrece educación de carácter general en diversas áreas, materias y disciplinas, a las cuales se da igual importancia en el plan de estudios:
-español -matemáticas -ciencia sociales -ciencias naturales - disciplinas filosóficas y artísticas.
*- Pase reglamentario por promedio (arriba de 7) a la UNAM.
*- Carácter preparatorio o propedéutico (te preparan para la Universidad).
*- Al concluir los estudios tienes es certificado del bachillerato.
*- Talleres que te forman como técnico (estos son opcionales)
*- Continuación de la secundaria

1.Modelo de semestre: * Se divide por grados (continuación de la secundaria) 4to, 5to. 6to ! * Se divide por semestres
2. Carga de materias: *Mayor carga de materias (12 materias aproximadamente). ! * Menor carga de materias (6 materias aproximadamente)
3. Elección de materias: *Eliges tu especialidad así como materias (no todas). ! * Eliges cada una de ellas (filosofía es obligatoria)
4. Actividades extracurriculares: *Le dan mayor importancia a estas. ! * Menor importancia
5. Modelos educativos: * mas estrictos y supervisados. ! * Mas liberales
6. Cuidado de planteles: *mas limpieza y mejores instalaciones. ! * Menos cuidado en las instalaciones
