Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall for approximately 629 units of the CORTRAK*2 Entral Access System, a feeding tube placement device that is linked to dozens of deaths and injuries.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system The devices were released between April 1, 2016, until January 1, 2022. They are used to help healthcare professionals to insert feeding tubes into the stomach or intestines of patients.
Avanos Medical Incorrect placement of nasogastric and Nasoenteric tubes has been the reason for 53 deaths and 60 injuries since 2015.

Cortrak 2 eternal access system According to FDA the adverse events were respiratory failure as well as pneumothorax (collapsed lung tissue) and perforation, a hole in the wall or bowel of the lungor bowel of the lung (a lung infection) and Pleural effusion (excess liquid that has accumulated in the space between your lungs and your chest cavity).
