For compensating one such deficiency, we have herein followed the methodological path of step-wise enhancing a Hill-type model. The (local) sensitivity values (see again Appendix C) indicate how small changes in the parameter value would affect the model output at the corresponding time instances. It has been further possible to restrict the search area for the algorithm, i.e., pre-define a hyperrectangle in the parameter space by lower and upper bounds, see third and sixth column of Table 2.
