Xbox has partnered with the preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) and some British creatives to create an Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. This impressive, complex build was sponsored by Xbox UK in the National Trust's festival archaeology. It encourages people to make their own ruin using foundations.
To that end the first build was done by an YouTube video maker named Grian who's work is highlighted in the video above and on YouTube. (opens in a new tab) Grian created a build that highlights Corfe Castle's most striking features, such as its historical octagonal tower miniature palace and "Gloriette". As I understand it is similar to an opulent medieval version of the Victorian folly.

"Grian has done a brilliant job restoring Corfe Castle to its former glory. He not only recreated the historic styles of the castle's grounds with precision and accurately, but also brought in his imagination. We are eager to see more creative designs by more young minds," said Martin Papworth archaeologist with the National Trust.
You can download Corfe's ruins yourself by checking out the Minecraft server corfe.ruinsreimagined.com. The ruin will also be available as a bundle for Minecraft: Education Edition for use in classrooms. Learn more about the project on Microsoft's website. (opens in new tab)
