GOG.com sells gaming docos. Movies and TV on the main stream might be next

Game distribution and sale service GOG.com is now a major source of documentaries about video games.
The company is a subordinate to CD Projekt Red, the developer of The Witcher, grew its reputation by selling older PC games that could be played on modern systems.
It currently has 21 documentaries on sale for US$6 each (except one) The list includes Indie Game The Movie Special Edition, Once Upon Atari, Playing Columbine, and Minecraft: The Story of Mojang.

It is currently the only legal location to host Gamer Age and The Kingdom of Arcades..
This expansion is part of a larger plan to offer Hollywood movies, TV shows, and other content on the site, DRM free.
"Our initial idea was to start with the big boys, but it's difficult." said GOG.com's North America boss Guillaume Rambourg.
"In our first round of talks, the response was largely"We appreciate your ideas but we don't want to be the first ones. We'll be happy to follow, but until somebody else does it first, we do not want to risk it.'
"Most studio executives agreed that DRM was useless however they were quick to add that lawyers wouldn't let them to eliminate it."
GOG.com has been updated to add three local currencies: Pounds Sterling, Euros, Australian Dollars, Russian Pounds Sterling, and Rubles. However, anyone can still pay using US dollars.
