Technoblade, Popular Minecraft Creator Died of Cancer at 23

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade is a top YouTube creator who was a specialist in Minecraft let's-play videos was killed a year after he revealed an illness that was cancerous according to an announcement from his family. He was 23.



Technoblade's YouTube channel shared an emotional YouTube video in which the YouTuber's father announced that his son was dead. His father said, "He was the most incredible kid anyone could ever wish for." "I am so sorry for Technoblade."



The video of the Thursday, titled "so long geeks" included a posthumous message from its creator to his fans. The message was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're here, I am dead," Technoblade's message said and revealed his real name as Alex. "Thank you to everyone who have been supportive of my content over the years. I am convinced that Technoblade would be my preferred choice should I have another hundred lives. These were the most enjoyable years of my life.



Technoblade's online shop has an advertisement that reads "In memory of his death, a portion of all orders placed online will go to a wonderful organization called curesarcoma.org." This link will take you to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.



Technoblade the online avatar of Technoblade, who was the crowned king pig currently has 10.8 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. "I play video games too much. I might not be the best but I do have hot elbows," his YouTube bio reads.



The video was posted on Thursday along with the statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you know how much he cared and respected his fans. Technoblade was always seeking ways to delight and reward his fans from the very beginning. Even after his eventual successes he somehow managed to keep his good-natured modesty, while competing with a charming balance of his confidence and self-deprecating humor. He stayed clear of fame and was determined to keep his identity private. We request that you respect his wishes to safeguard his privacy and that of his family."



The statement continued, "This past year has been filled with bumps for our son as he battled stage four cancer. He didn't whine and continued to make use of his shrewd mind to conquer what he thought was almost impossible odds. My son's strength on this path was a shining example to all of us who had the opportunity to walk it with. We are thankful that you shared the journey with us as he completed the work that he loved for his beloved fans.



According to his father Technoblade sent his final message to his fans just eight hours before his death. His father stated that although Technoblade didn't say everything he wanted, he did get the main points.



Technoblade revealed his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He claimed that he had felt pain in his right arm since the beginning of August. At first, he believed it was caused by repetitive stress injuries caused by gaming. After some time, he noticed his shoulder swelling and thought he could have a fractured bone. He was later diagnosed with cancer.
