Begin by opening the Minecraft launcher. You can download the launcher here if don't have it already. The launcher should show the most recent version. If not you can click the arrow right of the play button and choose "Latest Release". Easy!
IOS / ANDROID
Open Google Play or App Store on your device, and search "Minecraft". If Minecraft is already installed you will be asked to upgrade it if it isn't. Just press "Open" to download the latest version.
XBOX
Select Minecraft from the "My Games & Apps" menu and click the"more options. From the list, select "Manage game and add-ons" and then "Updates". Updates will be posted here. If no updates are available the game is updated!
PLAYSTATION 4
The PS4 should automatically update Minecraft. If you don't wish to receive automatic updates on your PS4, click the "options" button, and then select "check for updates" from the new menu.
Minecraft for Windows should automatically update to the latest version. If not, launch Microsoft Store, select the three dots in the upper right corner, and choose "Downloads and updates". From here, click "Get updates" and all installed applications should update (including Minecraft)!
NINTENDO SWITCH
If you own Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition, you simply need to start the game and a window will pop up regarding the latest version of Minecraft. Click on the button within this window and you will be taken to the eShop where you can download the latest Minecraft. Alternatively, you can visit the eShop and search for a game that is exclusively "Minecraft". Subscribe to our channel on Switch and we'll alert you about future updates on your console!
FIRE TV
Click on the magnifying glass icon to go to Store. Type "Minecraft" and then click the download button to download the update. The icon will appear in the Home tab, under "Recent" once it has been downloaded. To update Minecraft you need to highlight Minecraft and then press the menu button (3 horizontally aligned lines) and click "More Information". The button for 'Update' will appear in the game's description. 53vv Clicking it will initiate the update.
