Minecraft Goats - how to Breed and Tame Them?

There's been a lot of talk about the 'caves' part of the Minecraft 1.17 update but not much about the 'cliffs' and their newest Minecraft mob - goats. We get it. Axolotls from Minecraft are fantastic underwater companions and could be game changing. The Minecraft Warden however is a brand new monster that is completely blind, yet is a mighty beast. But won't someone think of Minecraft's goats?



Yes, Minecraft has goats. Finally! There are many types and kinds of goats in the real life, including the ibex who can walk on steep hills and the fainting goat. The Minecraft goats are based on the Rocky Mountain goat (or Oreamnos Americanus) and are well-suited to both alpine as subalpine conditions. They are not goats. They are more like antelopes square-shaped fakers.



Whatever the source of inspiration, they're what we have and at least appear to behave like the woolly beasts of the mountain tops that we know and love. This is all you need to know about Minecraft goats.



Where can I find goats in Minecraft?



In Minecraft, goats are found on top of cliffs as well as other high surfaces with the light level being seven or more. It doesn't appear that it matters if the cliffs have snow or grass on them, but they do seem to move during the daylight hours.

Instead, they'll randomly decide you need to be yeeted off a ledge and smash into you with all force. Even if they get angry, they are more likely to attack your adversaries to defend you. If the goat is attacked, it will flee away from its attacker.



How do I obtain the Goat Horn?



The Minecraft 1.17 update also adds a new item called the goat Horn. It is possible to collect a maximum of two goat horns each time the goat rams into blocks, but they can only drop one at a.
