Minecraft Goats - how to Breed and Tame Them?

There's been a lot of talk about the 'caves' part of the Minecraft 1.17 update but not much about the 'cliffs' and their newest Minecraft mob - goats. We get it. Axolotls from Minecraft are fantastic underwater companions and could be game changing. The Minecraft Warden however is a brand new monster that is completely blind, yet is a mighty beast. But won't someone think of Minecraft's goats?

Yes, Minecraft has goats. Finally! There are many types and kinds of goats in the real life, including the ibex who can walk on steep hills and the fainting goat. The Minecraft goats are based on the Rocky Mountain goat (or Oreamnos Americanus) and are well-suited to both alpine as subalpine conditions. They are not goats. They are more like antelopes square-shaped fakers.

Whatever the source of inspiration, they're what we have and at least appear to behave like the woolly beasts of the mountain tops that we know and love. This is all you need to know about Minecraft goats.

Where can I find goats in Minecraft?

In Minecraft, goats are found on top of cliffs as well as other high surfaces with the light level being seven or more. It doesn't appear that it matters if the cliffs have snow or grass on them, but they do seem to move during the daylight hours.

If you're lucky you might also see goats that yell. The only difference between them and regular goats is their bleats. You'll have to pay attention to locate them.

What do Minecraft goats do?

As we've said before, they're based on the Rocky Mountain goat - an antelope masquerading as goat for the sake of coolness. It's hard to duplicate their unique ability of being able to stand on uneven surfaces and climb high.

So instead goats in Minecraft can jump two blocks higher than the normal one block. They can clear small gaps effortlessly and look majestic when they do it. If they are confronted with an opening in the ground or a snow-covered block they can leap up to ten blocks high in the air.

They have ten health points (5 full hearts) and can sustain seven injuries (3 and a half hearts).

Goats are generally extremely passive, as CaptainSparklez discovered in the 1.17 beta snapshots. They won't even attack you if they hit you first. Instead, they'll randomly decide you need to be yeeted off a ledge and smash into you with all force. Even if they get angry, they are more likely to attack your adversaries to defend you. If the goat is attacked, it will flee away from its attacker.

How do I obtain the Goat Horn?

The Minecraft 1.17 update also adds a new item called the goat Horn. It is possible to collect a maximum of two goat horns each time the goat rams into blocks, but they can only drop one at a. Minecraft-servers The easiest way to get a goat horn is to gather several goats in one place and let them charge at you. Once a charging goat comes into contact with an object, their horn should break off.

If you utilize a goat horn you'll sound like you're blowing air through the horn to trigger an alarm. This is the same sound heard during raids against Minecraft villages. What does this noise do? There's speculation that the goat horn may be used in a future easter egg, but as of right now the horn makes the sound of raid.

What do Minecraft Goats eat?

In the real world, goats were one of the first animals to be domesticated because of their grass eating habits and milk producing udders as well as delicious meat. You can feed them wheat to encourage them to follow your example. This will get them in a state of love and allow you to breed. You can also produce milk by using an empty bucket on them kill them to get raw mutton, or cooked Mutton if the goat was on fire however, who would do such a terrible thing?

They're not able to ride horses like the Minecraft horses. Due to their temperament, they are probably the most loved pet.

There's still plenty to learn about what's already in Minecraft through the Caves & Cliffs update and what's coming up and we're not only talking about the new mobs. From copper ore, to the Lush Caves, there's something for everyone and more updates are on the way when the Minecraft 1.18 update's release date arrives.
