How i have Grown up With Video Games

My love of games began when I was a small child. I have played them for more than four decades. It is amazing to me how different they are today. However not everything is new about the systems. It's fun to look back at my years of playing and see what has happened as well as what is happening right now, and what will happen in the near future. With the recent xbox 360 kinect purchase and my excitement to purchase one for Christmas, it is a great opportunity to keep track of my gaming experiences. Pong was the first game I ever played. It was not difficult. However, it was difficult to finish. My siblings and I would stay up until midnight to play the game. I was obsessed with the game. Becoming the best player was my goal. When I think about that game, I can remember the moment I was first introduced to the game by my parents. It was not inexpensive. I believe they paid around $150 to get it. It was a large sum of money at the time, and is comparable to the cost of modern-day systems. The games were also very limited in the past. There was a beginner level and an expert level. It did not do much else. Next was a variety of systems that hit the market. You could purchase different games that could be used on the same system. I was not restricted to just one game. It was like having an arcade right in my home. I realized that this technology was better than before. There were games that could be played in the mall with friends. However, I was able to play a few of those games from my home. I was using my own money to purchase various games to play. What's more amazing is that If I kept the games and the game system there are collectors who would be willing to pay an amount of money for it. Even though I was an adult, the notion of being a gamer was part and parcel of me. I didn't stay as involved in the same way as I did when I was a child. There was always a way to play in my home. When they invented home computers, that became an integral part of my daily life. I was awed by the ability to play games over the Internet. I was married and had children so the thought of becoming a gamer was not something I wanted to pursue. I used to play with my old consoles when my children were old enough to be able to play. Gaming was still exciting. We purchased an Microsoft Xbox. I could not believe how authentic the games were. There were games designed for kids of all ages. We purchased games that kept our kids entertained. And I also picked games I would like. Eighteightsix The adults could play until late at night. There were times that I lost track of the time. It was as if I was a kid again. These systems allowed me to escape reality for a brief moment. There was a lot to do and not much time to play. At times I would be away for weeks without playing. If I had the time to play, the gamer in me would be around. This is a thing that never goes away. The kinect was purchased for Christmas and has opened an entire new world of video gaming. My family and I are able to move around and use the console as our personal gym while my kids practice their baseball and football skills. This makes me feel younger again.
