The following article explains how teachers can access and distribute Minecraft: Education Edition at their school. Minecraft: Education Edition is free to try out, and subscriptions can be purchased by accredited educational institutions directly in the Microsoft Admin Center by IT Admins through volume licensing agreements and through partner resellers.

Minecraft Education Edition is now open to anyone to play free! The trial trial is fully functional, but there is limitations on the number of logins (10 for students and 25 for teachers) that can be used before the purchase of a license to continue playing.

Purchase Minecraft: Education Edition for Teachers and Students
You'll need to have your IT Admin buy licenses for students and yourself through the Microsoft Admin Center. If you already have an Office 365 subscription, you might already have access licenses at school (through an agreement for volume licensing).
M:EE is included in many volume license agreements, but only school administrators can assign and manage these licenses. If you have an Office 365 account, check with your school's administrator or IT administrator prior to purchasing M:EE directly.
