How to make an Iron Golem in Minecraft and what they're For

Create a Minecraft Iron Golem to defend the inhabitants of a village from any threats. These mean-looking guards can protect villagers and buildings against any hostile creatures in Minecraft (opens new tab), such as zombies or skeletons or even raids from illagers. Iron Golems, unlike most other mobs in Minecraft can be created. However, they do naturally spawn in villages. If you've discovered a village that isn't protected by security measure in the form of a Minecraft Iron Golem, here's the information you need to know about creating the creatures and how they function.

How to make an Iron Golem in Minecraft

To make an Minecraft Iron Golem, you don't need to use a Crafting Table like you would to create most items in the game. Instead, you'll be required to place blocks in a certain order.

The components you require to create an Iron Golem are four Iron Blocks (each one is made up of nine iron ingots on the form of a Crafting Table), and one pumpkin. In Java Edition, it must be a carved pumpkin or a Jack O'Lantern, but in Bedrock Edition, it can also be a regular pumpkin. To make it appear like a scarecrow made of iron, put the Iron Blocks in the shape of a T and add the Pumpkin in the middle. Refer to the picture above!

If there is no connecting blocks (other than the floor it was placed on), placing the Pumpkin last will result in an Iron Golem spawn. You can repeat this procedure for as many times as you need to build your own army.

What Iron Golems do in Minecraft

You can better secure yourself with Minecraft Netherite armor

Iron Golems have pledged that they will defend players and villagers provided you don't attack. They're considered neutral mobs. Unlike animals like pigs, cows and similar Iron Golems will leave you be but will attack you if and when you attack them.

When an Iron Golem is created inside a village, it will slowly wander around, patrolling the area. If it's not in a village, it will gradually make its way towards the nearest one, and likely fight any hostile mobs on the way. If an Iron Golem takes damage, the player can heal it using an Iron Ingot on it.

If you've already got enough Iron and have a base or village you'd like to defend, Iron Golems are the best choice. You can't name them as you would with normal pets however, unfortunately. You might want to know how to control the fox in Minecraft If you'd like to have a pet.

Minecraft Amethyst Shards

Give me a game and I'll write every "how to" I can, or die trying. If I'm not writing guides for games I'm racing around the track in F1 and throwing balls in Pokemon Go, pretending I know what I'm doing in Football Manager, and clicking on heads in Valorant.
