Technoblade's iconic crowned pig is now an official part of the game that he loved.
Technoblade's death Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade (opens in a new tab) last week following a year-long struggle with cancer drew an outpouring of tributes from fellow streamers and Minecraft creators of content. Shortly thereafter, Minecraft studio Mojang also honored Technoblade's streamer by making a subtle, but important change to the Minecraft Java Edition loading screen.
Mojang, which was the first to announce the death of Technoblade, posted a tribute on July 1.
We have been trying to find the right words, but all of us here at Minecraft are grieving over the loss of Technoblade. Technoblade was a wonderful friend and brought joy to our community. He will be greatly missed. July 1, 2022
"We have been trying to find the right words but we all here at Minecraft are devastated by the loss of Technoblade," the studio posted. "He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly."

Not long after that, Minecraft fans began noticing an additional and memorable tribute to Technoblade on the Minecraft Java Edition loading page The previously plain pig in the background is now sporting a crown, a quiet but unmistakable nod to Technoblade's famed crowned pig avatar and YouTube (opens in a new tab) icon.
It's not known at this time if the change will be permanent however I am sure it to be. The Minecraft community is thrilled with the change The tweet about the change from the Techno Updates account has attracted more than 237,000 people to like it.
