A couple of hours ago, Carl Manneh, Mojang's managing director, tweeted that the Android version of Minecraft is now available for download on the Android Marketplace, albeit a bit late. We should have checked sooner however we were busy getting the shingles just right for Joystiqia the floating palace city.

We checked (eventually) and found that Mr. Manneh, sure enough isn't yanking our chains --- Minecraft: Pocket Edition is available for $6.99 on the Android Marketplace. You can also download a free trial to see what you get for the price of seven dollars.
Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll need to get back to our palace. He's making us build an enormous Chris Grant bust in the foyer.
