The beautiful and vast landscapes of Breath of the Wild are such an obvious match for Minecraft that someone even built the entire BOTW map last year, but it was just a starting point. Yet another pair of modders have added in some crucial Zelda gameplay using a functional Sheikah Slate and all its features such as a boomerang Sheikah towers, and quite a bit more. If you're sick of creepers that explode all your hard work, give them the taste of their own torture with Link's remote explode bombs.
As spotted by PCGamesN, the Breath of the Wild datapack was developed by modders Craiy and Joris, and it's actually very cool.
BEST MINECRAFT SERVERS
The most immediate elements you'll encounter in your Minecraft world are the rather typical Bokoblin camps that dot the landscape, and the more rare Sheikah Towers designed to resemble the huge spires Link climbs over Hyrule. Combating Bokoblins and capturing their Boko Stick clubs is a good start however, your next task should be crafting some ladders and climbing up to the top of the Sheikah tower. This is where you'll find the old Sheikah multitool of destruction and get ready to begin making destruction.
You can grab and move around blocks of metal like copper or iron with magnesis, and use both square and round remote bombs to frighten the bokoblin camps. You can also use stasis to launch goats off cliffs exactly the way they should, and even create especially tricky parkour courses using cryonis.
It would be fascinating to create a floating water base that only allows entry through cryonis Icepillars. I tried to channel Link by dropping iron blocks onto top of bokoblins but they just sped through them and then landed on their own. They didn't realize I was trying to make them miserable.
The boomerang, hero's dress and hero's tunic might be scarce but they're worth looking for. Craiy will go over all of this and more in the mod showcase video below.
The current version is compatible with Minecraft 1.19. However, Craiy claims that they are working on a new version of the BOTW Datapack.
The creator of the stunning Breath of the Wild map from last year decided not to release it to download. You might instead keep an eye out for the map being created by Grazzy. This is the datapack Craiy and Joris used as a showcase. I'm not sure if you'd really want to use the two together, considering that Grazzy is building her own Sheikah towers, and the BOTW datapack makes them on its own, for what it's worth. You could also mix your Zeldas and the Wind Waker style that you can discover on our top Minecraft texture packs.
