The Minecraft monster shows no signs of slowing down. Developer Mojang today announced that Minecraft has sold 100 million copies across all platforms including PCs, Macs consoles, mobile, and PCs. Since the beginning of the year, roughly 53,000 copies of the game have been sold every day across the globe. The game is addicting. More than 40 million players play Minecraft every month to play with a shovel, axe, and sword. There aren't many games that have been close to hitting the 100 million mark, except Tetris.
A large part of this success can be attributed to the game's flexibility and endless potential. Players can construct anything they can imagine with the help of its outward-facing geometry. is composed of simple, vibrant blocks. Many players have continued to play the game for a long time despite their age. Mojang has supported the game with a steady stream of updates that have included new mechanics materials, creatures, and creatures. The game's versatility has made it a huge hit in the classroom, where it is used to teach geoscience, art programming, and many other subjects.
