LONDON 28 June (Reuters) The American John Isner is likely to be the best server in the game on Wednesday, with the record for all-time aces in his sights but blocking his path at Wimbledon is a player who has a the reputation of taking on big servers, Andy Murray.
In a 15-year career, Isner has sent down more than 13,000 aces. He is currently just 40 shy of Ivo Karlovic's record mark of 13,728 on the ATP Tour.
Centre Court would be the best place for it But the 37-year-old American has lost all eight of his games against Murray, who is twice Wimbledon champion. They have never met on grass, however.

"He's so at ease on grass, more comfortable than I am. He has more wins in this tournament than I do.
"Grass might be his best surface, it's probably not my best surface. It does a lot for my serve.
Murray isn't at his best after hip surgeries. The 35-year-old Murray who last beat Isner 2016 in 2016, is concerned about losing his rhythm in the face of Isner who has one of the fastest serves in history.
"You are not always in control of them (the matches). You can play four or five games of service return in which you don't get any opportunities," Murray said.
"But for some reason I've always had a good time with them (big servers). The match-ups have been successful for me."
Centre Court will welcome back its day one winners , with Briton Emma Raducanu taking on Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia and top seed Novak Djokovic facing Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis.
"Caroline is a formidable opponent. I had a difficult match against her earlier in the year at Indian Wells. She plays a very fast tennis I'm up for it," said Raducanu.
Kokkinakis who is ranked 79th worldwide acknowledged that he was not the favorite against Djokovic.
"It's going to be great fun out there and I'm planning to swing my arms and try my best," he said.
"He's a brick wall , so you have to beat him, he's not going down for himself.
