GOG.com sells gaming docos. Movies and TV on the main stream might be next

Game sales and distribution service GOG.com now traffics in documentaries on video games.
The company is a subsidiary of The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red gained a reputation by selling older PC games that run on newer systems.
It currently has 21 documentaries available for sale for just US$6 each (except one), including Indie Game The Movie Special Edition, Once Upon Atari, Playing Columbine and Minecraft The Story of Mojang.
It is the only legal place to host Gamer Age and The Kingdom of Arcades.
This expansion is part of a bigger plan to offer Hollywood films, TV shows, and other content on the site, without DRM.
"Our original idea was to start with the big boys, but it's difficult." P2p systems Guillaume Rambourg, GOG.com's North America chief, said this.
"In our first meeting the reaction was mostly"We love your ideas, but we do not want to be the first to adopt them. We'll follow your example, but we do not want to risk it unless someone else does it first.
"Most studio officials agreed that DRM is ineffective However, they were quick add that the lawyers would not allow them to get rid of it."
GOG.com has been updated to include three local currencies: Pounds Sterling Euros, Australian Dollars, Russian Pounds Sterling, and Rubles. However, everyone can still pay in US dollars.
