Begin by opening the Minecraft launcher. If you don't have the launcher , you can download it here. The launcher should display the most recent version. If it doesn't you can click the arrow right of the play button and choose "Latest Release". Easy!
IOS / ANDROID
Open Google Play or App Store on your device and search "Minecraft". If Minecraft is already installed you will be asked to update it if it's not. If you have the latest version, simply press "Open" and start playing!
XBOX
Go to "My Apps & Games", select Minecraft and press the more options button. Select "Manage game and add-ons" from the list. Next select "Updates". Updates will be listed here. If there are no updates the game will be fully updated.
S Games
PLAYSTATION 4
The PS4 should automatically update Minecraft. If you don't want automatic updates on your PS4 Click the "options" button, and select "check for updates" from the new menu.
Minecraft for Windows should be updated to the most recent version automatically. Open the Microsoft Store, click the three dots on the top right , and select "Downloads and Updates". Select "Get updates" to ensure that all of your installed apps updated (including Minecraft).
NINTENDO SWITCH
If you own Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition then you just need to start the game and a window will pop up with information about the new Minecraft. Click the button in the window and you will be directed to the eShop where you can download the latest Minecraft. You can also go to the eShop to search for an Minecraft game. Subscribe to our channel on Switch and we'll alert you of any future updates to your console!
FIRE TV
Go to Store by hovering over the magnifying glass icon, then type "Minecraft" and then click when it is displaying to download the update. After downloading, the icon will pop up in the Home tab under "Recent". To update the game, you must highlight Minecraft then press the menu button (3 horizontal lines) and then click 'More Information'. The button for 'Update' will appear in the game's description. Clicking it activates the update.
