Minecraft Mobs List: all Neutral, Neutral, Passive and Tameable Mobs In Minecraft

There's a staggering number of mobs in Minecraft as of 1.18 and it's advisable to be aware of as many of them as possible to make sure you can deal with each one appropriately.



Below is the complete list of Minecraft mobs, animals, and creatures, starting with the basic Chicken up to legendary monsters such as the Ender Dragon and even mobs that are coming up like Frogs, Allays and the Warden.



Minecraft mobs list



Since its inception in the early 2010s Minecraft has come a far. Today, there's a total of 73 mobs within Minecraft (with more coming in Minecraft 1.19! ) Each mob is different in appearance and behavior. different from other mobs. Below I've listed every mob that is in the game, categorised based on their neutral, passive or hostile to the player.



Passive mobs are mobs that won't attack the player even if the player attacks them first. Most of these mobs are harmless animals that run away when they are attacked, or approached in some cases. Axolotl - Bat - Cat - Chicken - Cod - Cow - Donkey - Fox - Glow Squid - Horse - Mooshroom - Mule - Ocelot - Parrot - Pig - Piglin (baby) -- Polar Bear (baby) - Pufferfish - Rabbit - Salmon Sheep Skeleton Horse - Snow Golem - Squid - Strider - Tropical Fish - Turtle - Villager - Wandering Trader Frog (upcoming mob, arriving with Minecraft 1.19 update) Allay (upcoming mob, launching with Minecraft 1.19 update)



Breedable mobs



- Axolotl - Cat - Chicken - Cow – Donkey - Fox Horse - Mooshroom and Ocelot - Pig - Rabbit - Sheep - Skeleton Horse - Strider - Turtle Villager Mule - can be bred from horses and donkey but it isn't able to breed.



Tameable mobs



- Cat - Donkey – Horse - Mule — Parrot - Skeleton Horse Fox - Fox - not really tame, but will "trust” the player - Ocelot Ocelot - not really Tame, but will "trust” the player



Rideable mobs



- Donkey - Horse - Pig - Mule - Skeleton Horse - Strider



In the event of a crisis the mobs that are neutral can be hostile or passive towards players. Below I have listed every mob's behavior when they are provoked to turn hostile.



Bee - provoked when attacked or damaged beehives it only attacks one Cave Spider hostile when at low light Dolphin - provoked to attack if looked at Enderman and then provoked if attacked Llama (adult) and Polar Bear (adult). Instigated to attack Polar Bear (adult), attacks only once Polar Bear (adult), in the event of being provoked by a player wearing 1+ Gold Armor pieces Panda. - hostile (low light Wolf) - provoked Zombified Piglin



Hostile mobs are always ready to attack nearby players whenever they are able to. These mobs are just plain stupid.

Minecraft boss mobs



There are currently two "boss mobs" in Minecraft. These are powerful creatures that have their own health bars and they're currently the most dangerous enemies in Minecraft with the exception of, of course the players you'll encounter on PvP Minecraft servers.



- Ender Dragon Wither



You'll need to be prepared to defend yourself from Minecraft many mobs, whether you're fighting Endermen or Guardians or other hostile animals such as Polar Bears.
