Microsoft is expanding its world of Minecraft into a brand new action-adventure game called Minecraft Legends. The game will be released in 2023 and asks players to explore Minecraft as it is being invaded by an evil force.
Mojang studios of Microsoft who creates Minecraft has described this latest game as a familiar but in many ways-new experience that is more focused on strategy and battle. The original Minecraft game was released in 2011. It lets players build and explore while sometimes fighting zombie-like creatures.
Microsoft announced that you are the center of any battle you fight, fighting alongside allies and giving them direction," in a teaser announcement. Microsoft announced that it had a partnership with Blackbird Interactive, which also developed the upcoming space strategy game Homeworld 3.

Just the fact that Minecraft Legends comes from a popular game doesn't guarantee its success however. Minecraft is a popular video game that ranks right with Super Mario Bros., Grand Theft Auto and Tetris. But its efforts to go beyond the hit formula have been spotty.
Minecraft Dungeons, an action-adventure game in Minecraft's style was met with mixed praise when it first came out two years ago, as per an investigation by Metacritic. GameSpot also a CNET corporate cousin, gave Minecraft Dungeons an "good" rating. GameSpot noted that Minecraft Dungeons was focused on fighting monsters, rather than offering a new twist on its basic formula of building worlds. GameSpot's Steve Watts stated that the game doesn't change our expectations of what games can be. Instead, it's relying on its own popularity.
Microsoft announced Minecraft Legends at its annual summer video game showcase, which will be held online this year. The game will be available on Xbox, PC, and cloud gaming next year.
