Yu atau Arus dalam prinsip Hapkido artinya fleksibel atau dapat dianggap sebagai lembut, yaitu kekuatan beradaptasi seperti air saat mencoba untuk menangkis serangan lawan dengan cara yang mirip dengan air yang mengalir bebas (energinya) akan terbagi di antara bebatuan, hanya untuk kembali terkumpul dan bersatu (untuk dapat dipergunakan menyerang balik).
3. Empat Unsur dalam Krav Maga:
a. Tangan Kosong (latian dasarnya kuncian fisik dari lawan, stamina dll)
b. Stick atau Knife Defense (teknik bertahan untuk menggunakan tongkat atau pisau)
c. Knife Offense (teknik menyerang)
d. Gun Defense (gerakan melepaskan diri dari ancaman) dan Gun Education (pengenalan terhadap senjata api)
