The holophone is on the way! Amazon has signed an agreement with AT&T to be able to compete with Apple and Google using a revolutionary 3D handset

Amazon is today putting the final elements on its first smartphone that is scheduled to be unveiled within hours by the company's boss Jeff Bezos.



The device is expected utilize retina-tracking technology, so that images displayed on the screen appear to "float" above' the screen, similar to Holograms and appear three-dimensional from all angles.



AT&T will be the first to launch the handset in the US in a deal that is similar to the launch of the original iPhone.



Amazon's rumored holophone will be announced on June 18. The retailer released a teaser trailer on Wednesday, which shows people's reaction to the device. Images of the handset were previously released online. The most recent images (pictured below) show a slim phone which resembles Apple's iPhone.



The rumoured deal has upset AT&T's competitors.

Images of the handset were earlier leaked on the internet.



It is currently being developed at Lab126, Amazon’s secretive Silicon Valley hardware unit.



According to Business Week, more than 1,600 people have claimed Lab126 on the professional social networking site LinkedIn as their employer.



The latest images also show a slim handset it looks like Apple's iPhone.



'Multiple trusted sources have verified the authenticity of the image which was created to be used internally by graphic designers at Amazon BGR,' the website BGR said.



The handset seems to be influenced by the design of Apple's iPhone 5 and Google's Nexus handset.



'As can be seen in this image released exclusively by BGR, Amazon's phone will feature an overall look that is similar to many full touch smartphones currently on the market as reported by BGR.

"In fact, it appears to take design cues from a variety of smartphones including Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy S line. The HTC One has a polished and chamfered design that is similar to the one on Amazon's phone.



The handset is believed include a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution of 720p as well as it has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, and six separate camera modules to help create 3D effects.



It will run a customized version of Google's Android OS similar to that is found on Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets.



The Amazon handset features a beveled edge similar to apple's iPhone 5



The site has previously obtained images of the phone encased in a protective case.
