Minecraft film'set to hit silver screen'

The block-building game Minecraft, which is hugely loved, is set to be turned into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's maker was in conversation with Warner Brothers about the project.
Persson said he had disclosed the information to stop someone else trying to expose information about it.
Movie news site Deadline revealed that one of the producers of the recently released Lego Movie is handling the project.
Deadline reported that Warner was looking to create a film from a "live-action" version.
The film's production is at a very early stage as Warner only recently acquired the rights to use Minecraft's iconic blocks, characters and monsters.
This news comes just two months after Mojang, Minecraft creator, has shut down the Kickstarter campaign to raise money to make a film inspired by the game.
Hollywood has a long history of remaking popular games for film. Many projects never get to the stage of production.
For instance, a film set in the science-fictional Halo universe has been in the works for nine years, yet filming hasn't yet to begin despite numerous scripts being written.
Similar films based on Bioshock and Gears of War have been discussed, but no film has yet started filming.
World of Warcraft is a game that is being developed into a film. Irc101 Filming began in January with Duncan Jones, a British director. The film will be released in early 2016.
