Game sale and distribution service GOG.com now traffics in documentaries about video games.
The company, which is a subsidiary of The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has built its name selling older PC games that could run on the latest systems.
It currently has 21 documentaries on sale for just US$6 each (except one) The list includes Indie Game: The Movie Special Edition, Once Upon Atari, Playing Columbine and Minecraft The Story of Mojang.
It is the only legal location to host Gamer Age and The Kingdom of Arcades..
The expansion is part of an overall idea to provide Hollywood TV and film productions to purchase on the site, DRM-free.
"Our initial idea was to start with the bigger guys, but the process isn't simple." said GOG.com's North America boss Guillaume Rambourg.
"In our first round of talks the general response was"We love your ideas but we don't want to be the first. We'll gladly follow, but until somebody else has done it before, we do not want to take the risk.'
"Most studio officials agreed that DRM is pointless, but were quick to declare that the lawyers would not allow them to get rid of it."
GOG.com has been updated to include three local currencies: Pounds Sterling Euros, Australian Dollars, Russian Pounds Sterling and Rubles. However, anyone can still pay in US dollars.
