Can Minecraft Really help you Build A Career?

Minecraft is a staple in the children's entertainment - but now it could even assist them in finding a career.



CareersCraft, a new Minecraft world launched by Careers Wales, aims to help children aged between eight and 13 explore and improve their career skills and knowledge.



Six zones are based on landmarkssuch as the Senedd Big Pit, Coal Exchange, Caernarfon Castle, and the Big Pit.



Each zone corresponds to a specific area of learning in the new Welsh curriculum.



It is available for download for anyoneto download, however an education edition is available to all Welsh schools - accompanied by lesson plans for teachers.

The players explore the region and take on challenges and activities as they move, gaining knowledge about careers and industries in Wales and discovering more about their strengths and interests.



Maggie, student at Risca Comprehensive school in Caerphilly said it was an amazing experience and it was a good way to discover various career options using Minecraft.



Ferne Another student said: "It made my think about my future but it was also fun."



Gareth Phillips from Careers Wales said: "CareersCraft is a hugely thrilling and innovative resource that we hope will increase the aspirations and broaden the horizons of future generations.



"It's been a joy to see young people traveling around the world, developing their thinking skills and problem-solving skills, while also learning about Welsh heritage and pondering their future career paths."
