Minecraft will not be able to complete a bridge to PS4, Vita and Xbox One until August, however an PlayStation Blog update lends a some more information about what we can expect from the port to Sony's latest home console.
We were told previously that the size of the world would be "a significantly bigger" on consoles with more modern features. However, this update provides more information that the PS4 will have 36 times the space for flagship construction sites than the PS3. You can consider the DualShock 4's touchpad as a new tool in your arsenal also, as 4J Studios is implementing optional support for its use in crafting or menu navigation.
The PS4 version will offer eight-player online play, with a single PS4 being capable of hosting up to four players in a split-screen. "A collection of DLC that is exclusive to Sony" will follow Minecraft's PS4 debut.
For your reference, saves can be transferred between the PS3 and Xbox 360, so you can continue to exercise your architecture muscles without worrying about starting over. When the PS4 and Xbox One builds arrive in August it will be possible to upgrade from digital versions for $4.99. PlayStation 3 owners can also upgrade to the Vita version, but they'll have to stick to the PS3.
Mojang would love to provide discounts to the spinning disc-based Minecraft versions. However, the post states that it's "proving somewhat more difficult to set up." SERVERS We'll have to wait to determine if this is feasible.
