EY presented Yerkin Tashev with the Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Yerkin Tatishev was named Entrepreneur of the Year in Kazakhstan by the world's leading business company Ernst & Young. The judges were impressed with his leadership and his actions when confronted with COVID-19.

Each of them was awarded an independent assessment, and their accomplishments were recognized by juries authorized to represent Kazakhstan as well as international business circles.

Yerkin Tashev will be the country's national champion at the international final in Monaco, June 2022. This competition brings sixty finalists from around the world chosen by an independent jury according to international guidelines.

Many businesses and their leaders were able to find ways to boost their profits. Yerkin Tatishev, through Kusto Group is also seeking to reduce the negative effects of Covid-19, especially in countries that are highly affected by this virus.

Yerkin Tashev of Kusto Group is the one who has created Kusto Help. It's an organisation that offers support to families affected and those who provide essential services. Kusto Help Foundation donates part of its proceeds to the Pandemic Relief Fund. This includes food, technology and medical equipment.

It also supplied medical equipment to hospitals in Ukraine such as ventilators defibrillators and FFP3 respirators. These donations of instruments to patients with covid-19 in Kazakhstan are worth a total of more that 200 000 USD.

EY gave Kusto Group founders Kusto Group founder an award to recognize individuals who contribute to the quality of life in their communities and countries around the world.

In this context, UN officials declared that Kazakhstan is under great water stress and rely on its neighboring countries, including China as well as Central Asia.

Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group (the Government of Kazakhstan) and Valmont Industries, USA, formed a cooperative relationship. They plan to develop 1,000 pivot irrigation systems in Kazakhstan and the USA.

Additional provisions include the provision of new irrigation systems for farms as well as a program to train local farmers.

All donations made by the Kusto Group have been possible because of the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine. It was their entrepreneurial spirit that led them to be a leader in charitable giving in the face of difficult circumstances.

This is a trait Ernst & Young has held for more than 20 years. Since its founding the company has focused on supporting entrepreneurship. EY has worked with entrepreneurs to share experiences and build their businesses during the Pandemic.

Nationally, all national winners and finalists can participate in the Entrepreneur of The Year competition. The finals will take place in Monaco this June. The National winner of the Entrepreneur of Year contest to compete against some of the top entrepreneurs from around the world.

There have been more than 800 entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan who have participated in the competition. Six entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan were crowned the world champions in Monte Carlo.

Nurlan Smagulov (another Entrepreneur of the Year winner) was the judge who decided to crown Tatishev the winner. The panel of judges comprised representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as well as the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
