Avanos Medical Avanos Medical has issued a recall notice stating that as of 2015, there has been 60 deaths of patients and 23 injuries due to an incorrect placement of the nasogastric feeding tube. Pneumothorax (collapsed lung) or pneumothorax ("collapsed lung") perforation ("hole in the wall or bowel of the lung) and pneumonia (a bacteria-infected infection of the lung) and the pleural liquid (excess fluid in between the lungs).
Avanos Medical issued a correction notice to customers who had used these devices in the period January 2021 through January 2022 on March 21 2022. Avanos Medical feeding tube The notice provided the following guidelines:
